Although I have not used
the AURSI system for long, I have found that it
has streamlined my RFQ process tremendously.
Formerly, I would hand type descriptions for my RFQs
and then retype them into a requisition form.
AURSI’s system eliminates this redundancy in my
process. When evaluating the results of an
event, it is quite simple and I am able to send bid
tabulations immediately to my vendors, which I’m
sure they appreciate. Getting started was easy.
AURSI has made the transition effortless. All
I had to do was provide my inventory listing, and
they did the rest. Following one short training
session, I am able to find my way around and
maintain my information easily. I look forward
to furthering my use of the AURSI system.

| I am pleased to say that the AURSI system has
been a great asset to myself in many areas. Using the AURSI system
has enabled me to quickly locate my customer's catalog numbers,
along with the specifications for each. Not only is this feature
efficient, but I can send the specification electronically, which
enables a quick response in most cases. Also, the system is very
user-friendly for those not so technically advanced.
In addition, the quotation features on the AURSI
system are of great benefit as well. Less paperwork means less
confusion, which results in quick and easy turnover time. Especially
when a customer has an emergency quote. For example, my fax machine
is located on the other side of the building and I may not get the
opportunity to bid the material. However, with the system, I receive
a notification for every quote from my customer. At least now, I
have a chance to submit my quotation for an emergency inquiry, and
ultimately become a reliable source in the eyes of my customer.

| I especially like the feature on AURSI that
allows me to view the customer’s stock number and get approved part
numbers. Also it allows me to read any specs that go with it and
view the picture of the item. I also value the bid tabs that some
customers put on AURSI. And, of course, the AURSI system is a new
and exciting way of doing bids for our customers.

| Just a note to say thanks for the great support
both you and John have provided LCEC with the AURSI system. Since
implementation, my buyers have found it extremely useful in cross
referencing our inventory items with other utilities within the
system. Being in Florida with tropical storms, hurricanes, and the
normal daily thunderstorms, we have put AURSI to the test locating
emergency materials from other utilities. The cross referencing
makes this task easy compared to what we used to do. Your quotation
system has also been a great improvement in our procurement
activities and has improved the efficiency of our department.
Communication with distributors has improved with all the added
benefits provided by AURSI. My investment recovery personnel cannot
wait until your surplus inventory system comes on line in the near
future. Our engineering staff now have the capability of referencing
other utilities approved materials which has greatly shortened the
time frame for new approvals. It’s refreshing to find an
organization such as AURSI that is innovative and forward thinking,
and in addition willing to go the extra mile to provide a quality
product. Again, thanks for the support AURSI has provided LCEC and I
look forward to even better things out of AURSI in the future.

| LCEC had been manually
updating our Oracle inventory system and then manually updating the
AURSI system. In a period of only 6 months, we found that we had
missed quite a few updates in the AURSI system. Working with AURSI's
staff, we are now able to update the AURSI system from our Oracle
system in one simple step. Utilizing the Oracle Discoverer
Report, we can query our whole database, export the file into an
Excel spreadsheet and send it to AURSI. Our last inventory update
took minutes rather than hours to accomplish. Now we are
routinely sending Excel spreadsheet updates to AURSI. Once again
AURSI has provided a simple and accurate means of keeping our
inventory system current. AURSI is an incredibly powerful tool
and one I wouldn't want to be without.

| Thank you for the opportunity to share with
others how AURSI has improved the efficiency and effectiveness of
our Purchasing Department! The first part of
every week I can always look forward to re-stocking our Central
Stores warehouse. So, every week I'd send out FAX quotations for
items that were not on an annual bid, evaluate & then award them.
This process is time consuming, depending on how many items were on
the Request for Quote as well as the interruptions that go along
with the day to day activities of a very busy, small, Purchasing
Department. Typically these interruptions included calls from
vendors regarding specification information on various stock items
as well as inquiries as to what was approved and can they bid an
"equal".
The majority of these re-stock items are utility
based, in fact, the vast majority are very important in keeping our
electrical utility stocked with materials to do their day to day
tasks.
Then along came AURSI! I can send out the
electrical utility re-stock items, usually, in less than 5 minutes!
Approved manufacturers and the specification information are
available on line! When entering a quote I can choose to allow the
respondents to bid an equal or simply inform them with the click of
the mouse "approved only"!
AURSI tabulates, and then all I have to do is
award the items, cut the Purchase Orders! The vendors can even get a
"tab sheet" on line!
AURSI IS AN EFFECTIVE TOOL IN THE DAY TO DAY
ACTIVITIES OF PURCHASING. IT IS A TIME SAVER AND TIME IS
MONEY...EVEN IN THE ARENA OF PUBLIC PROCUREMENT.
I can't wait until the rest of my utility based
purchasing can be done through AURSI!

| We have used AURSI for roughly 10 months now and
are very happy with the product. We have been working to change
specification information to insure we are getting the correct
material. We also use it to see what other companies are using
and if we change a product and have materials not being used we
offer it to those companies. So far no transactions but we will
continue to make offers. Also to add or remove a defective product

This eliminates unnecessary duplications of documents, and
repeated phone conversations. |
 | It provides instant access to technical
specifications, including pictures and catalog numbers. Plus it
shows the last date the file was updated, and who made the change.
So if you have questions about the change(s) you know exactly who
to contact. |
 | It provides a cross reference guide on any/all
catalog numbers so you can quickly locate all users/suppliers of
the product you are seeking. |
 | It provides a quick review of suppliers and
their "Line" card. |
 | It provides a bulletin board to help suppliers
and users keep tabs on the current standings of the ever-changing
utility world we work in. |
 | It helps us stay more familiar with our
neighboring utilities product lines and catalog numbers. Thus
enabling possible mergers for purchasing in bulk which may assists
in substantial cost savings. |

our experience with the AURSI system. You immediately
established our approved materials manual on line with little effort
on our part. It has been very easy and effective for us to
update our information quickly for use by our own employees as well
as our suppliers.
We are now using the event system regularly to quote our material.
It is a quick and efficient method of bidding on-line. Our
suppliers are getting the most current information available on the
material we want along with any special criteria for each item
requested.
The continuing advances in your system seem to be designed
especially with us in mind. Each update makes very efficient use
of our time and efforts. We see great potential to further
expand the exchange of information among other cooperatives and our

Prior to AURSI we made
several attempts to establish and maintain a material standards
manual. We found that maintenance was a full time job and had no one
to do it. Now that we have AURSI, updates are immediate with no
paper trail. AURSI has been a great tool for coordination between
purchasing and engineering. What makes AURSI so great is that
it is not a stand alone system for WREC, but is open to view by all
members of AURSI. When a vendor tells me his products
are approved at other utilities, I can verify this in minutes
by cross-referencing with other members of AURSI.

| AURSI has been a great benefit to myself in
sales. It has also helped me to see where I need to get
manufacturers approved on products to help benefit GRESCO and the
end user. I have been able to save time and paperwork when sending
out my requests for quote. I have also been able to keep track of
bid results better utilizing AURSI. Another benefit of AURSI has
been the product search, which is a lot easier than the oversized

AURSI’s material manual
is a great tool to search for material that is needed by other
utilities. We had a situation with Sumter Electric Cooperative, Inc.
(SECO) where SECO needed a particular type fuse and we were able to
utilize the AURSI manual search to find the same fuse at Kissimmee
Utility Authority (KUA). We picked the fuses up from KUA and
delivered it to SECO the same day.
We have been able to use the AURSI System many times to help our
customers out. Our number one priority is to satisfy our customers
and the AURSI SYSTEM helps us to achieve this goal.

| I was on AURSI this
morning in the Materials Manual Search looking for additional
manufacturers for three items that my supplier told me were now
obsolete. When I pulled up the appropriate pages, I found that the
items in question listed only one manufacturer (the one I was told
was obsolete.) On the pages were links to the manufacturer's
catalog, which I clicked into to see if there was any information I
could obtain to find the items. I found the items were still active.
I called the manufacturer and they confirmed all three items were
still available, and two were even in stock! I then called my
supplier to let him know. It seems the manufacturer was going to
obsolete these items, but decided not to, and apparently the word
did not get out to everyone. Having access to the manufacturer's
catalog through AURSI (I didn't have that one in my office),
saved the day for me and my supplier. I can fill my customer's
order, and my supplier now knows these items are still available for
sale.

I would like to share with you that during
Hurricane Charley, WESCO sales associates used AURSI everyday.
Each sales associate had two computers, one logged into the WESCO
customer order entry screen and the other computer on AURSI. AURSI
provided customer specific part numbers and the ability to cross
reference supplier catalog numbers.
Without the use of AURSI, it would have taken us longer to identify
the customer requirements. Great job on developing an excellent
tool that improves WESCO's ability to service our customers.

You asked for some feedback on the
process for updating our data in the AURSI system. So far,
the process we have worked out is really easy and seems to be
pretty flawless.
Attached are the instructions I follow every 2-4wks to send you
our updates. The process takes me 5 minutes. Particularly
helpful is the spreadsheet of changes I get as feedback from you.
At a glance I can look at all the changes made to stock number,
description, and approved manufacturer information since our last
update. Thanks for automating that extra step.
As a brief aside, the other things I have found handy to improve the
function of our information are the ease of adding a specific web
link (catalog cut sheet) to items as I run across them, and the
ability to add generic or specific pictures to each. I'm finding
that our suppliers are looking there to get their information more,
without calling me so much. I'm particularly looking forward to
telling our non-member sales rep's about their soon to be available
ability to perform searches on our information. Then I'll be able
to send everyone to AURSI for "Who's approve for what?" type
questions.
